BOCA RATON, FL – Acclaimed late night talk show host and stand up comedian Jay Leno, along with the Atlantic City Boys (acboys.com), will perform at the Boca West Community Charitable Foundation’s (bocawestfoundation.org) annual “Concert for the Children” on Tuesday, March 31 at Boca West Country Club. The event will follow the Foundation’s annual $100,00 Golf Challenge, happening on March 30.
Funds raised will benefit at risk children and their families in Boca Raton and South Palm Beach County. Each year, Boca West Community Charitable Foundation serves over 3,000 children and its volunteers have given 45,000 hours of their time to the 15 charities with which the organization works.
“In determining who we wished to star in our Concert for the Children this coming year, Jay Leno was always at the top of our list because of his humanitarian efforts throughout the world,” said Arthur Adler, Chairman of the Boca West Charitable Foundation. “We are delighted that he is aiding the children of South Palm Beach County through his performance here at Boca West.”
The Concert will be held at the AKOYA Amphitheatre on the Great Lawn of Boca West Country Club with doors opening at 6 p.m., the Atlantic City Boys opening the show at 8 p.m. followed by Jay Leno’s performance at 9 p.m. All tickets are $150 and seats will be assigned by a drawn lottery on March 10. The event is sponsored, in part, by The Boca Raton Observer.
The Golf Challenge on March 30 will include brunch and registration at 11 a.m., a 1 p.m. golf tee time, followed by a gala cocktail party and award presentation from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Player spots are $500 and include a ticket for the Concert for the Children. About Jay Leno
Acclaimed TV late night show host, admired stand-up comedian, best-selling children’s book author, much-in-demand corporate speaker, lovable TV and movie voice-over artist, pioneering car builder and mechanic, and philanthropist…it’s no wonder that Jay Leno has always been widely characterized as “the hardest working man in show business.”
Jay Leno’s late night television ratings domination included more than two decades of “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” winning every consecutive quarter of his hosting over the past 19 years. After resuming hosting the 11:35 PM program following a one-time brief interruption of these duties, Jay once again took the show to the top, leading all of the ensuing quarters handily for another three years. Under his helm, the show was honored by the Television Academy with an Emmy for “Outstanding Comedy, Variety or Music Series.” “The Tonight Show” has also taken home the trophy for “Favorite Late Night Show” in the annual TV Guide Awards determined by voting viewers, and Jay was recently installed in the Television Academy’s Broadcast Hall of Fame.
The Boca West Community Charitable Foundation was launched in November of 2010. It came about as a desire by the thousands of members of the Boca West Country Club to give back to Boca Raton and the South Palm Beach County communities. The Foundation’s mission is to identify and fund projects to assist children and their families in need in the area.
